The Deca Century Club is about noticing the amazing improvements a person enjoys as he/she sticks with a massive commitment. Perhaps one doesn't have to walk 1000 miles (10 x 100 miles... Deca Century), but that is certainly one way to enter the club.
The DECA part is fundamentally different from the rest of the FRED Super-acronym for 2 reasons:
1) Whereas the other acronyms are about identifying the best strategies, the DECA acronym is about identifying the best benefits.
2) Whereas each letter of the other acronym is a unique concept, the DECA acronym is essentially the same idea viewed from different perspectives. Just as the terms love, honor, and cherish are used together even though they have similar meanings, the DECA acronym is 4 words that have similar meanings. The idea is to highlight the benefits and make it easier to remember why we are committed to our resolutions.
DECA = Deity, Education, Communication, & Alchemy
Results will certainly vary, but many people experience the following benefits as they stick with similar resolutions:
Deity
We often feel closer to what we think of as "the creator" and the entire world as we stick with our worthwhile resolutions.
Education / Enlightenment
Before enlightenment carry water, cut wood. After enlightenment carry water, cut wood.
To educe, to draw out, to develop from within.
Communication
We feel like we can understand, tolerate, appreciate, and even love others more. We can look past their errors, and we ignore them attacking ours. In many cases when we feel as if we are achieving worthy objectives we feel as if we are immune to negativity. We inherently understand what it means to "never mind what haters say, ignore them until they fade away".
Alchemy
We feel like we can create. It’s like a synergy where 1 + 1 = more than 2. It’s like we get more energy, more resources, more time, more quality of life, and somehow even more time.
The DECA Contest is about identifying the best benefits of bodybuilding contest.
